Chess Fest Details

Jennifer and I are getting very excited about the upcoming Chess Fest on May 10th at the Hotel Congress. In addition to featuring Mayor Bob Walkup and First Lady of Tucson Beth Walkup, I am also excited to announce that Council Member Karin Uhlich will play in the tournament and members of the Catalina Foothills Chess Team have volunteered to provide free chess lessons and workshops!

I also want to thank Mrs. Tiggy Winkle’s Toy Store for providing costumes for all the human chess pieces in our life-size match. These costumes will be for sale at the event, and all proceeds will benefit 9 Queens.
