Chess is a great thing, it helps me emotionally, mentally and physically. I have made lifelong friends in the game of chess. I have learned that chess does not care if you are black, white or Mexican, poor, rich or middle class. It matters that you love the game.

This professional development workshop is designed to help teachers, librarians and volunteers how to play chess and use chess as a tool in their classrooms and programs. Arizona teachers participating in this workshop can receive professional development credit for attending. Participants will receive sample lesson plans, activity guides, and free chess sets to start their own program. For more information on this workshop email awalanski@9queens.org.
